I can snap a few more pics if close ups or different angles of needed. The bore appears to be clean, and the bolt moves smoothly and it shoots accurately.Īny help with the value and maybe where to find some info on it would be greatly appreciated. Friend's Mystery Mauser - A 1916 A fellow Member of our shooting club just acquired a Mauser which the former owner said was a 7mm, although it has no visible markings other than a serial number on the left side of the receiver and on the magazine floorplate & forward trigger plate tang (which does not match). It doesn't appear to have been refinished and I don't think it has been sporterized, the only non original part/alteration looks like is the front sight appears to have had some bright nail polish painted onto it some time ago. It does not have any importation markings on it that I can find so I'm guessing it was brought onto the US a while ago. I picked it up at a garage sale this summer from an elderly gentleman that said his friend from the VFW gave it to him before he passed away and that was about all he knew about the gun.įrom the little information that I have found online I think it might be a Spanish Mauser since it appears that he maker marks have all been scrubbed. I was wondering if anyone could help on identifying the value and possibly any other information about my 7 mm Mauser. * MARKINGS – aside from serial number, appears to be scrubbed. * MEASUREMENTS – posting this at work, I can get this later if needed
